BODYAMR
"Amr Ali is a Omani creative director, designer and entrepreneur best known as the founder of BODYAMR, one of the first Gulf Arab luxury fashion brands to gain international recognition. Launched in London in 2000, BODYAMR became known for its distinctive blend of sharp tailoring, cinematic glamour and an East-meets-West aesthetic that challenged conventional perceptions of Arab fashion and luxury.
The brand was stocked internationally by some of the world's most influential retailers, including Colette Paris, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale's, establishing BODYAMR as one of the earliest luxury fashion labels from the Gulf to achieve a significant global presence.
In 2017, the Financial Times highlighted Amr Ali as part of a generation of Middle Eastern creatives helping to redefine international perceptions of luxury, culture and design. Over the course of his career, Ali's work has been featured in British Vogue, American Vogue, Italian Vogue, Vogue Russia, Harper's Bazaar, The Financial Times and The Evening Standard, while BODYAMR's collections and imagery have been photographed and profiled by some of fashion's most influential image-makers, including Rankin, Steven Klein, Mario Testino and Emma Summerton.
Beyond fashion, BODYAMR collaborated with globally recognised luxury brands including Rolls-Royce, Mercedes-Benz, Asprey, Graff, Christian Louboutin and Amouage. Its clients and supporters included Florence Welch, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Beyoncé, Katy Perry and members of royal families and international cultural circles.
Today, Ali is recognised as a pioneering figure in contemporary Arab luxury. Following a career spanning more than two decades in fashion, he founded AMR Studio, a boutique creative consultancy specialising in creative direction, interior design, art curation and collectible design, working across Oman, London and the wider Gulf region."
